Highlights of Krka National Park

From the pier in Zadar, you will drive 60 minutes through Croatia’s hinterland to Krka National Park. The park is located in Sibnik-Knin County, along the Krka River. Upon arrival, head for the last set of falls before the river meets the sea. Here, the Skradinski Buk Falls form a spectacular multi-level cascade over travertine cliffs. The whole area is rich with vegetation, birdlife and fish. Due to Croatia’s very strong environmental preservation laws, this extraordinary natural asset remains in its original pristine state. After a guided walking tour you will have some free time at Skradinski Buk to hike and explore on your own. Re-boarding the coach, relax during the drive back to the pier.

Zadar On Foot With Spirit & Cheese Tasting

The walking tour of Zadar's Old Town begins on the pier, being just a short distance you will find yourself in the heart of this magnificent district. Includes visit to the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, the finest example of Romanesque architecture in Zadar and which has a notable W front of 1324. It is dedicated to St. Anastasia, whose stone sarchophagus is in the apse to the left of the high altar. Further on your way you will pass close to the Church of St. Donatus which is believed to have been built by Bishop Donatus on Roman foundations at the beginning of the 9th century. This is most monumental church on the East side of the Adriatic, it is circular in plan, with three naves. To the eastern of the Forum we come to the 16th c. St Mary Church with a romanseque bell-tower built at the beginning of the 12th c. by the Hungarian – Croatian king Koloman. On the upper floor of the convent , open to the public are rooms containing a collection of goldsmith's work, relics and other valuable items. Tour will end with a wine, cheese and Marascino Liqueur tasting at the Arsenal Tavern situted in the Old Town of Zadar at the vicinity of the pier area. The production of Marascino Liqueur in Zadar is almost 400 years old and was enjoyed by all the royal households of Europe.
