The latest culinary creation from Holland America’s Master Chef is a feast for your eyes, not your taste buds. Rudi Sodamin’s new coffee table book is called “Food Faces,” and features more than 150 vibrant images of edible art.

Chef Sodamin’s distinctive characters are inspired by culinary ingredients and human expression. Each plate personality is created from real food items including vegetables, fruit, meats, fish, grains, and sweets. In the book’s forward, Chef Thomas Keller writes, “Through his food faces, Rudi puts happiness front and center. On a plate.”

On Holland America’s ships, guests who dine in Chef Sodamin’s Sel de Mer restaurant can enjoy food face art on special porcelain plates, as well as his delectable made-from-scratch menu.

“Food is an international language, understood by all, and everyone in the world, regardless of race, gender, experience or social status, can communicate and connect through food,” says Sodamin.
