Pet Relief Areas

With over 30 million people traveling each year with their pets it’s difficult for the travel industry to ignore that Fido and Buttons need a place to stay and be comfortable too. In honor of our four legged loved ones, this week is pet week on the Stellar Travel blog.

Did you know, in 2008 the Department of Transportation required all airports to have accessible relief areas and escorts to those areas for passengers traveling with service animals?

Nearly all pet rest areas are located outside, with some located behind secure areas for travelers on connecting flights. SeaTac airport has three areas, two outside (north and south of baggage claim) and one in the secure area at the entrance to concourse B, across from Borders Books.

Alaska Airlines put together a chart of pet relief areas at all their destinations. CLICK HERE to view the Animal Relief Areas chart or contact your Stellar Travel Advisor for assistance.
