Four Seasons Resort Hualalai sustained debris-related damage in some public areas as a result of the high storm surge from the Tsunami. All guests and employees of the Resort are safe and guests have been relocated. Overall, the Resort sustained minimal damage caused by water and sand from the storm surge, primarily to landscaped areas and the beach.

The Resort is temporarily closed and clean-up efforts have begun. We plan to re-open on March 21, 2011. All guests with reservations prior to March 21st are being contacted by our reservations team to make alternate arrangements.

Kona Village Resort Update

On March 10, 2011, the staff of Kona Village Resort safely evacuated all guests after a tsunami warning generated by a magnitude 8.9 earthquake that occurred off the coast of Japan. Our guests were taken to an evacuation site where they were carefully looked after by Resort staff. All are safe and there were no reported injuries. As the resort did sustain some damage due to the water surge, we have closed Kona Village Resort to insure that we will be ready to welcome our guests and be fully operational. Note that our phone lines are currently down and we are working diligently to have them operational. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult period. The Kona Village Resort Ohana are very grateful for such wonderful guests and our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.
