Food travel is growing every day, and with good reason – what could be better than tasting your way around the world? In particular, the Hawaiian Islands are known for their unique local food scene. Here are four great upcoming festivals to keep in mind.

On Kauai, the 21st annual Coconut Festival takes place this October 7-8, 2017. Taste a variety of coconut dishes and observe cook-offs and pie-eating contests.

Coffee aficionados should head to the Island of Hawaii for the Kona Coffee Festival this November 3-12, 2017. Celebrate the island’s historic coffee tradition with coffee tastings, savory coffee-inspired dishes, farm tours, and even a lantern parade and Miss Kona Coffee Pageant.

To sample another local staple, check out the East Maui Taro Festival next April 21, 2018. Drive the famous road to Hana where you can try your hand at taro-pounding and taste local specialties, along with music and hula performances.

Finally, head to Honolulu for the Waikiki Spam Jam next April 28, 2018. This fun street festival features multiple entertainment stages with shows throughout the day, and of course, enjoy gourmet creations featuring the famous canned meat.
