A great part of traveling for many of us is stepping away from the chains and finding some great local restaurants that help us experience the flavor and color of the area.  It’s not easy to find a great restaurant when you don’t know where to look, so we decided to share our favorite resources for hunting down a good meal.  Chowhound is our go-to place for finding lunch, dinner or the local bar scene.  Its huge user base of dedicated eaters promises the best recommendations. Post your query on one of the boards or, as we do, skim questions others have asked.  For breakfast, we tend to like it a little hearty so we head to Roadfood.com where creators Jane and Michael Stern specialize in informal, inexpensive down home meals.  It’s a great site to find the perfect stack of pancakes or chicken ‘n waffles.
