Hummingbirds, monkeys, sloths…wildlife abounds in tropical Costa Rica. But some of the most amazing sights are found high above the ground, deep in the country’s magical cloud forests. Here’s how to see it all for yourself.
Head to San Luis Park, an emerald green nature preserve about 2 hours inland from Puntarenas. While there is much to see at ground level, intrepid travelers will be rewarded for venturing higher up.
A naturalist will guide you up through the forest trails, over rushing rivers and along suspended bridges over a hundred feet high. Take in breathtaking views of the jungle and its exotic native plants, like wild orchids and bromeliads.
Come face to face with the inhabitants of the cloud forest. Colorful birds like macaws and toucans call the jungle home. Tree monkeys and three-toed sloths can be spotted with a keen eye.
This incredible excursion is available courtesy of Regent Seven Seas, which visits here several times in 2018 on its Panama Canal crossings. Talk to your Stellar Travel advisor to start planning your voyage today.
