If you’re setting sail on a Holland America cruise, here’s everything you need to know about their alcohol policy.
Adults may bring one bottle of wine or champagne only (no larger than 750ml) in carry-on luggage at the start of the voyage, which is complimentary if enjoyed in your stateroom.
Additional wine or champagne bottles are welcome in carry-on luggage or purchased in port, but will each incur an $18.00 corkage fee. Any other bottles will be stored by Holland America and returned upon disembarkation.
The age of an adult varies depending on location. For voyages departing from and returning to Australia, New Zealand, Europe, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Taiwan, an adult means 18 years and up. For voyages departing from and returning to Japan, an adult means 20 years and up. For all other destinations, including the United States, an adult means 21 years and up.
If you’d rather not bring your own, Holland America offers several drink packages including the Elite Beverage Package and Signature Beverage Package. Wine enthusiasts can enjoy the Cellar Master Package, including a choice of five wine bottles, a special winetasting experience, a Pinnacle Grill dinner, and a commemorative Holland America bottle of wine.
