Visiting the Kansas City Airport? You’ll now have the opportunity to check out the newly opened TWA Museum at the airlines former 1931 headquarters, 10 Richards Road. Founded by former TWA mechanics who collected and kept artifacts in a space near the airport lunch room, the collection has outgrown its former location and needed a much larger space. Now that the collection has moved to its new location, not only will the exhibits and memorabilia tell the TWA story but now the building can be shown as a part of that history.
Even those who can’t make it to the museum have the chance to participate in TWA history, the museum gift shop has a variety of items from the airlines past; from note cards and t-shirts or a 1944 Hostess Wings pin.
