While you might not have heard the name, you’ve probably seen the photos. Turquoise waters, rocky towers, lush greenery – Phang Nga Bay National Park is a landscape of otherworldly beauty. This uninhabited marine preserve makes a terrific day trip or shore excursion from Phuket.
The park most well-known for its spectacular limestone rock formations, called karsts, which jut out from the sea. Of the 40-plus limestone islands throughout the park, one of the most famous is Ko Khao Phing Kan, also known as James Bond Island. It was featured in the 1974 James Bond film, The Man with the Golden Gun.
A great way to spend the day here is to tour on a small boat through the bay. With the help of an expert local guide, you’ll discover secret beaches, shimmering lakes, and hidden sea caves.
