After a 4 year hiatus, river boats return to the great Mississippi River in April 2012. American Queen will return to the waters after a full refurbishment of their Victorian Era paddleboat. Most of the ship will remain the same, keeping it’s nostalgic old world charm, although many of the public spaces are in for a conversion. Expect a casual New Orleans style eatery, additional entertainment venues (jazz lounge!) and fitness programs.
The Great American Steamboat Company, owners of the American Queen, are currently planning three, four, seven and nine day cruises along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.
