What happens to those millions of unused bars of soap and shampoo left in your hotel bathrooms? Apparently, most of it is thrown away.
Wasteful? Yes.
Good for the environment? No.
The group, Clean the World, is working with thousands of hotels to reuse and distribute those bars of soap to impoverished and needy people around the world. More than 5 million people die annually from acute respiratory infection and other diseases which could be avoided with proper hand washing. By collecting and recycling soap and shampoo from hotels, resorts and B&Bs the Clean the World program hope to save a million lives per year.
